Hot-Dip Galvanizing
What is galvanizing?
The purpose of hot-dip galvanizing is to provide corrosion protection for steel components. This process involves coating the surface of steel elements with a layer of zinc by immersing them in molten zinc at a temperature of around 450-460°C.
What are the advantages?
Hot-dip galvanizing provides highly effective corrosion protection because zinc is more reactive than steel and, over time, undergoes electrochemical reactions that protect the steel from corrosion. Additionally, hot-dip galvanizing also provides protection against mechanical damage as the zinc coating is very hard and durable.
What are the production standards?
Throughout the entire process, the best available techniques (BAT) are used, in accordance with the provisions of Article 16(2) of Directive 91/61/EC, to ensure the highest quality of the hot-dip galvanizing process.
What do we galvanize?
Generally, zinc coatings are applied to steel structures with dimensions of 6500 x 1400 x 3000 mm and a unit weight of up to 5000 kg. If galvanizing larger-sized elements is required, prior agreement with the technical department is necessary.
